Self-levelling compound

If you have concrete floors in your home, perhaps you’ve noticed your concrete floors are uneven, and you need a solution in order to install a new floor covering. If your concrete floors aren’t completely flat, don’t panic, there is a solution, and it’s called floor levelling.

If your concrete flooring is not done professionally, this can result in an uneven floor. Having self-levelling compounds laid over particularly large areas can lend itself to a little inaccuracy and unevenness because of the difficulty when moving and laying extremely wet and heavy compounds.

There are two main types of self-levelling compounds. The first is a powder that comes with a latex liquid in a separate container. To prepare it, all you have to do is mix the two together to form a compound. The second type of self-levelling compound is a bag of powder with the latex compound included. To use this, you just need to mix it with water to use.

Flooring Adhesive

When it comes to your new flooring, you will need the correct products for the installation. The certain products will all depend on the floor covering you are having installed. We offer a wide range of self-levelling products and adhesives.

Flooring adhesive is any type of strong, permanent glue for adhering flooring materials to a subfloor or underlayment. Different types of adhesives are recommended for different types of flooring, although some multi-purpose solutions can be used effectively with multiple materials. When choosing a flooring adhesive for your project, there are several factors to consider.

The substrate is the structure or material directly below the finish flooring. Certain adhesives will bond better to different types of subflooring. Damp below-grade concrete requires a different bonding material than flooring installed on dry at- or above-grade concrete. Some adhesives also can be used to install flooring over plywood subflooring, and there are specific hardwood bonding agents as well. You may also need a specialty adhesive if radiant heating is being installed.

Upon initial consultation, our expert advisor will establish the specific floor covering for the installation and always advise on the most suitable adhesive necessary. Whether you are having a new hardwood floor or LVT/LVP our range of adhesives will get will ensure the correct installation procedure.
